Cydney Williams is a Jersey City-based artist.
Driven by curiosity, Williams strives to combat the fear of the unknown, leaving a space charged with joy. Through paintings and installations, she depicts resilience attempting to arm the viewer with the energy of her process. Williams hopes to connect the viewer back to their own reflective journey, not necessarily a story bound by her narrative.
Williams holds a BS in art education from the University of Vermont, and has been trained and mentored by artist Dorothea Rockburne. Her work has been exhibited at Mana Contemporary, Jersey City; Pinta Art Fair, Miami; and the University of Vermont, Burlington. Additionally, as the host and creator of the podcast, Tip N’ Tell, she engages with other artists to discuss the current contemporary art dialogue.
